Most varieties have flowers that are purple to deep blue but white and pink forms do exist. Sweet violets bloom mainly in late winter and spring, but will also bloom sporadically throughout the summer. Its sweet fragrance makes it suitable for cut flower use and is a nice addition to the shaded perennial garden as a low border or ground cover. Avoid reflected heat locations. Prefers moist, highly organic soils.
